HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN OUR COMMUNITY!

Its Time To Get Strong!

Our training program has undergone a fresh start post-2023 CF Open. Regardless of whether you used CF Open as a benchmark, it marked the beginning of a new training cycle. We took a break from the intense training of the first quarter and focused on tempo work for five weeks, allowing our bodies to recover. We also began a nine-week strict gymnastics cycle to improve capacity and build strength for exercises such as the Pull-Up, Push-Up, Handstand Push-Up, etc. Our aerobic capacity work concentrated on the 15:00-20:00 time domain with weekly variations of longer and shorter workouts.

May will continue with the same approach as April but with a few modifications. We will begin our 5-3-1 Wendler Cycle by testing our Back Squat, Deadlift, and Push Press. The numbers will be plugged into Wendler, and we will work towards progress in just six weeks. Additionally, we will continue to enhance our high skill pulling and pushing movements in gymnastics, including accessory work for improving strength and stability. Our focus on overall aerobic conditioning will continue, building our engines for the second month of this building phase.

HOW THE WENDLER STRENGTH CYCLE CAN HELP YOU BUILD STRENGTH AND MUSCLE

Are you looking to build strength and muscle? These are crucial elements of any fitness journey, and the Wendler Strength Cycle may be just what you need to achieve your goals.

Why is building strength and muscle important? Not only can it improve your overall well-being, but it can also help you perform better in sports and physical activities, as well as lead to a leaner physique and faster metabolism.

SO, WHAT IS THE WENDLER CYCLE?

It’s a training program developed by Jim Wendler, a former powerlifter and strength coach. The program is based on the concept of progressive overload, which means gradually increasing the weight lifted over time to stimulate muscle growth.

The Wendler Strength Cycle typically lasts for 12 weeks, but it can be condensed into a 6-week program. The program focuses on three to four main lifts and incorporates different sets and rep schemes to prevent boredom and challenge the muscles.

The effectiveness of the Wendler Strength Cycle comes from its emphasis on progressive overload and variation in training. By continually increasing weight and varying sets and reps, the program forces the muscles to adapt and grow stronger.

So, if you’re ready to build strength and muscle, give the Wendler Strength Cycle a try and see the gains for yourself!
