We understand that some people prefer personal training, which allows for focused attention on your body’s unique limitations, strengths, weaknesses, and discomfort. Others enjoy the camaraderie of small group classes, where they can engage with a community, support one another, and even socialize outside of the gym. And then there are those who prefer a hybrid approach, combining the individualized focus of personal training with the energy of a small group setting. Which option resonates with you?

Our Ramp Up coaches will guide you through proper technique in all six foundational movement patterns. We prioritize safety and ensure that you understand how your body moves along the way.

How does the Ramp Up Program at CrossFit Totality benefit me?

With the CrossFit Totality Ramp Up program, you won’t simply jump into group classes without the coach knowing anything about you or without you being familiar with the class structure. You won’t immediately start lifting heavy weights during personal training sessions either. We believe that both approaches can lead to injuries, frustration, and ultimately giving up on your new fitness routine. Have you experienced that before? I certainly have!

Our Ramp Up program is specifically designed to ensure that you experience the benefits of exercise in your daily life.

Since we aim to train you for the challenges you face beyond the gym walls, we start by mastering the foundational movements before building upon them.

What are the six foundation movement patterns?

The six foundational movement patterns that we encounter in everyday life are: squatting, hinging, lunging, pushing, pulling, and carrying.

Squat: Sitting on a chair, getting in and out of a car, sitting on a couch.

Hinge: Picking up something you dropped, bending over to pet a dog, lifting a child.

Lunge: Helping you get up from the floor, climbing stairs, going on hikes.

Push: Pushing a child on a swing, pushing yourself off the ground, assisting a broken-down car.

Pull: Taking something off a shelf, helping someone up from the ground.

Carry: Carrying a child, groceries, moving boxes, a laptop bag.

We provide personalized training sessions to teach and assess each of these movement patterns. Afterward, you can choose to continue with personal training sessions or transition to group classes to pursue your goals. If more focus is needed to excel in these foundational movements, we won’t hold you back from joining the classes if you feel ready. We’ll continue working with you as required to help you progress along the way.
